Welcome to the Internal Quality Assurance Cell
As per the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the establishment of an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is mandatory for all institutions. Hence VTU established IQAC Cell in year 2017. VTU successfully completed 1st Cycle. The IQAC Cell works continuously towards evolving strategies to eliminate deficiencies and enhance quality in academics, administration, research, and institutional processes, thereby promoting holistic academic excellence.

OBJECTIVES OF IQAC
• To develop and operationalize a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action aimed at improving the academic delivery, research ecosystem, and administrative performance of the University.
• To formulate, finalize, and implement standardized quality benchmarks and performance parameters for various academic, research, and administrative tasks.
• To sustain, strengthen, and systematically upgrade the holistic performance of the University by internalizing a progressive quality culture.
• To effectively measure, document, and audit university performance using stakeholder feedback in order to catalyze continuous institutional growth.
• To sustain, enhance, and catalyze quality initiatives that promote innovation, research capabilities, and global e
ducational practices within the university.

VTU has consistently upheld its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and quality enhancement. The University has been accredited by NAAC and has secured a commendable position in NIRF.
VTU has strengthen its national and international reputation, hence we applied for prestigious recognitions such as the Times Higher Education Ranking and the MDRA, India Today Ranking, Received many national/International Awards. The University is also preparing eligible academic programmes for NBA accreditation in the coming years, our primary objective is to foster a culture of quality through systematic planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement in all academic and administrative processes.
The Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) has emerged as a key mechanism for evaluating institutional performance, identifying strengths and gaps, and promoting quality enhancement To strengthen the quality ecosystem, IQAC periodically organizes meetings, workshops, faculty development programmes, awareness sessions, and quality-related events. The Cell actively formulates and implements quality policies. I am confident that VTU will continue to scale greater heights in the years ahead we aspire to position VTU among the leading technological universities in India and earn greater international recognition.

General Roles and Responsibilities of DQAC Members
The Departmental Quality Assurance Cell (DQAC) acts as the departmental arm of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and is responsible for promoting, monitoring, and sustaining quality initiatives at the department level.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate all quality assurance and quality enhancement activities of the department in line with the guidelines of IQAC.
- Ensure effective implementation of the quality policies, regulations, and initiatives issued by the University and IQAC.
- Maintain accurate and updated departmental records related to teaching, learning, research, extension, innovation, and administrative activities with coordination of Department Chairperson.
- Authenticate data Collection, verification, and submit departmental data required for NAAC, NBA, NIRF, QS, THE, AISHE, ARIIA, and other national and international ranking and accreditation agencies within the stipulated timelines.
- Facilitate the conduct of Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA) and ensure timely compliance with audit observations and recommendations.
- Coordinate the preparation of Self-Study Reports (SSR), Self-Assessment Reports (SAR), Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR), and other quality-related documents.
- Promote Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE), and effective curriculum implementation.
- Encourage faculty members to undertake quality research, consultancy, funded projects, patents, publications, innovations, and professional development programmes.
- Monitor student performance, feedback, mentoring, placement, internships, and progression, and recommend quality improvement measures.
- Initiate to Organize and coordinate workshops, seminars, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) at VTU PG Centers.
- Promote best practices, green initiatives, gender equity, inclusiveness, institutional values, and social outreach activities.
- Ensure timely updating of departmental information on the University website and institutional portals, including FRIS and other quality management systems.
- Maintain documentary evidence and supporting records for all departmental academic and administrative activities.
- Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to IQAC and participate in review meetings conducted by IQAC.
- Disseminate information related to quality initiatives among faculty members, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
- Assist the Head of the Department in planning, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving quality assurance mechanisms.
- Coordinate with statutory bodies, committees, and stakeholders for effective implementation of quality initiatives.
- Perform any other quality related responsibilities assigned by the University, IQAC, or the Head of the Department from time to time.
