Inaguration of Faculty Development Programme
Visvesvaraya Technological University under the leadership of honourable Vice Chancellor Dr.H. Maheshappa has designed numerous programs to enhance the quality of higher education teaching and learning process. One such initiative is the one week VTU sponsored Faculty Development Programme on “Enhancing competency for quality teaching”.
The programme was organised by Sahyadri college of Engineering & Management, Mangalore. This program aims to enhance competency for quality teaching among the teaching fraternity of institutes affiliated to VTU. The programme content includes varied issues like TQM in teaching, quality assurance standards, significance of ICT in education, Business incubation and research aspects.
The Program was inaugurated on 21st July by Dr. Chidanand Gavimath, Special officer, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, VTU. In his inaugural address he enlightened the audience on the various unique features of VTU and the recent prominent awards bagged by the University. He concluded by wishing the participants to enjoy the upcoming marathon of technical sessions.
Dr. Umesh Bhushi, Principal Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management presided over the function. Dr. A.P.Achar, Director, Department of Business Administration & Dr. Umashankar, Dean- Academics were also present during the inaugural ceremony. The programme had many delegates participating from different corners of the state. Prof Karthik Kudroli concluded the inaugural ceremony by proposing the vote of thanks.
